We are excited to take a Sunday and specifically remind ourselves that “the church” is not a building or an event, but a gathered group of believers in Jesus Christ.

Giving cheerfully and sacrificially is a part of worship at Anthem. We give generously because God has first been generous to us. We dream of becoming a church marked by radical generosity. Intro to membership
Over the last couple years many of you have come to be a part of our Anthem family. We are so excited that you are here with us and we look forward to seasons of life and ministry together. Throughout our history we have run a session called Intro to Membership that describes who we are as a church, what we believe and how that impacts the way we do life together. We are putting together an opportunity for as many of you as are able to walk through this with us and to ask any questions you might have as you continue to connect with this local church family. Intro to Membership is this Sunday, April 3rd. If you have never been through intro to membership before, we would love to have you join us to learn more about life together as a local church family. Once you sign up, we will send you a packet of things to read through in preparation for the time. We have enjoyed getting to know you and look forward to seeing how God uses us to continue to reach this community with the Gospel!

Last Sunday was All Hands On Deck Sunday where we talked about the church being a family and what it means to contribute to the life of the local church.
If you missed signing up to help make Sunday mornings happen, there's still opportunity to do so. Follow the link below to learn more about the needs and to let us know where you would like to serve.

While the name of this gathering may be a little fun for fun's sake, we really are excited to spend a morning diving into what it looks like to grow in wisdom in every season of our lives. This will be a great moment for men, as well as any elementary-aged boys or above.
Our main event will be a very practical message from Steve Larson on how to cultivate a life of wisdom in every season of life (youth, young adulthood, later adulthood), but we'll also enjoy an optional disc-golf time, axe throwing, cornhole, and breakfast tacos. It should be super fun for all ages.

Kids helping kids
As we move into our Celebrate Generosity season at Anthem for the next couple weeks, this Sunday in Anthem Kids, we are going to introduce the Kids Helping Kids program, raising money for orphans in Thailand (visit goZOE.org for more information).
Kids will be given plastic tubes that, if filled completely, totals $15 in quarters. They are encouraged to collect money by doing chores, selling lemonade, hosting a bake sale, or really any creative idea that they may have. In Thailand, $15 will feed, clothe, and educate a child for a full week! When we meet at the park next week (Oct 9) for our Celebrate Generosity gathering, we will have buckets for kids to fill with the money they’ve collected. We will continue to collect money throughout the month of October. On Sunday, October 23, Anthem Kids will be hosting a Bake Sale to raise money for ZOE. It’s always great to watch kids be generous!
Celebrate generosity
Join the Anthem family of churches on Sunday, October 9th for Celebrate Generosity Sunday!
From day one, Anthem Church has wanted to do something unique to mark our anniversary. As much as we all love cake, we wanted it to be something that really expressed the heart of God. Each year, we celebrate by taking every penny that comes in for a week (Oct 9-15) and giving it away. ALL OF IT! Click on the link below to learn more about all the initiatives we are going to.
We're meeting at the park for a fun day of celebration together. Arrive around 10am for coffee and yummy breakfast treats before the gathering starts at 10:30am. Tacos for lunch and games on the lawn to follow. Bring a chair or a blanket and come ready for a great day together.
Also, we can still use some extra help making the day happen; if you're available, contact drake.blaisdell@gmail.com or simply add your name to sign-up sheet below.

Vision series
We started the vision series with an intense focus on the Holy Spirit. As we look at the Scriptures, the Spirit is the gateway to effective ministry, transformational relationships and authentic worship. With each of those areas being areas of focus for us to grow in this year, it was necessary for us to put our full attention on the Holy Spirit and how we can walk in obedience to his leading.

Family Meeting Vision Night | Sun, Mar 5, 5:30-8PM Potluck dinner and childcare provided
Hello Anthem Church,
If you were here a couple of Sundays ago then you heard that we are moving to Utah. We wish we could sit down and have a conversation with each one of you to tell you the big story. It is amazing to think about how God has worked through our lives and specifically in this part of our story. It has alway been in our minds to live somewhere with a largely Mormon population. Ashlee was raised Mormon and I was thrown into the battle of Mormonism soon after becoming a believer–Ashlee was still Mormon, we were years into dating, and she was trying to convert me to Mormonism. Praise the Lord for His Word. It was through studying Scripture that we both came to know Jesus and began pursuing a relationship with Him.
We are in the middle of purchasing a restaurant called the Burger Barn at Panguitch Lake, which is in a very rural area in southern Utah. Panguitch is where Ashlee grew up. Google it :) It’s near Bryce Canyon National Park and fairly close to St. George, Cedar City, and Zion National Park, just off I-15. We are telling you this so you have the information when you are planning your travels–we’d LOVE to have you stop by!
The Burger Barn is a seasonal business that our family will run in the summer. It will be a great way to be part of the local community. Our hope is to share the Gospel to those who are open to it and to gather people who are disillusioned with Mormonism and disciple them around our dining room table (or, if you know Ahmad, more likely a fire pit), much like a community group.
We are so thankful for the team we have been a part of at Anthem. Matt and Kristen have been so gracious and open to however the Lord was leading us. We have told them for years that we would love to minister to Mormons or to people who have left the Mormon church and are now apathetic toward God. In July we came to them about an unexpected opportunity to move to Utah, though at the time we thought the chances of it happening were slim. Their response was, “Let’s go out and pray over it!” In September 2022, our family, Matt, Kristen, and Celeste took a very quick trip to Utah. We walked this tiny town, we spent time on the Burger Barn property, and we asked God what He wanted. If He was ready to move, we were too. It was helpful for us to be able to talk with them about what we all felt and saw after spending a weekend there. People who know us there were excited to see us and were encouraging us to move back not even knowing that inviting us back is inviting Jesus in. Please be praying right now for the Spirit to begin working in the hearts and minds of the people there. There are so many people in that tiny town who are close to us (the Milbys) but very far from God.
While we are excited about this new adventure that God has put before us, we are also sad to leave our community here. We love you all and have really loved being a part of what God is doing here. We have loved seeing our community grow closer together and closer to Jesus. We have gone through a lot together. We came back to Anthem in the fall of 2017, and a lot has happened since then, but the one thing that is the same is GOD IS FAITHFUL. We have seen it over and over again and we are so thankful for that. 1 Corinthians 1:4-9
While we will be physically separated, we want to stay connected with you all. We will be sending out a quarterly newsletter to let you all know what is going on with us and how you can be praying for us. If you would like to be on our distribution list, please sign up below.
We are really excited for this adventure and have big dreams for how God will be using us to share the Gospel this next season. Thank you so much for your prayers and support as we take this next step. Because the Burger Barn is a seasonal business we will have plenty of time to come back to visit!
With much love,
Ahmad, Ashlee, Naomi, Isaiah, Elijah & Eden Milby

teaching series
As we dive into this season of teaching through the book of Romans, our hope is that it brings profound Gospel truth and transformation into each person’s life. One of the best ways for that to happen is through the personal study and meditation on God’s Word. We set our teaching calendar in advance and the trust the Spirit if there are particular areas that need increased attention. So this calendar may alter a bit over the course of the series, but this should be a good guideline for spending time reading through and meditating on the Scriptures in preparation for our Sunday gatherings and community groups.
Week 19 — Romans 10:8-17
Anthem Kids Day in the Park
For the past couple of months the kids have been working together to fill up our reward jug. They have been bringing their Bibles and completed activity pages each Sunday, trying to earn a park day with ice cream sandwiches. 1. Please make sure your kiddos bring their Bibles and completed activity page
2. Please be aware that children ages 4 and up will be walking over to Thousand Oaks Community Park with their teachers and assistants after worship and the Bible lesson. (9:45-10:25- for the 9am and 11:45-12:25 for the 11am) We will have security and will have communication with our welcome host if any needs arise.
Please contact Sally with any questions - sally@anthemchurch.org
