What's New

Hey Anthem!

While my house has been a little quieter being down 2 teenage boys, my guess is that Hume Lake has been rather loud this week. From the brief updates that we have gotten, it looks like our students are having an amazing time at Hume to cap off this summer. This week we will be continuing our Frameworks series teaching about the doctrines of Man/Sin with Justin Newman sharing “Why is this good news?” Make sure to read our elder update in the weekly if you weren’t with us last Sunday. Have a great weekend and we hope to see you soon!

elder update:

This last Sunday (8/7) we brought Andrew and Lauren Frey on stage to introduce them and begin a season of examination for eldership. If you haven’t been around for one of these times, part of our process of bringing in new elders is to present them for examination. We ask the church three things:

1. If you have any unresolved relational issues with Andrew or Lauren, please take the initiative to have a conversation with him and work towards reconciliation in that. We have asked Andrew and Lauren to do the same.

2. If you have any knowledge of a biblical reason why Andrew is not qualified for eldership, we ask that you would bring that to one of the current elders for consideration. We ask that you would have the Scriptural basis for disqualification and be prepared to talk through it with us.

3. If you don’t know the Frey family and you are a part of Anthem Church, this is a great season to spend time getting to know them, get a meal with them, coffee, etc.

This season of examination is part of our process of ordaining elders. We’ve spent significant time with the Freys over the last 2 years and if no issues are presented that need attention, we’ll be ordaining them into eldership in three months (November).

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our elder team.

Summer bbq

We love growing in our relationships with the Anthem church body and what better way to do that than over good food and sunshine. Join us NEXT SUNDAY (Aug 21st) for the All Church Summer BBQ.

Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and join us for lunch after the 11am gathering (if you come to the 9am gathering, come back at 12:30). Hot dogs and burgers will be provided and we’re asking everyone to help with all the sides. Use this link to sign up t o bring one to the needed items and/or to help make the day happen, and to let us know how many are coming.

If you have any questions, please contact Ahmad at ahmad@anthemchurch.org.

WHEN: Sun, Aug 21st after the 2nd gathering

  • Baptism

Baptisms are a celebration of new life, a celebration of the finished work of Jesus Christ, and a public declaration of the work of the Spirit in our lives. For those who call themselves a Christian, and have not yet been baptized, we'd love to chat with you. Fill out the form or contact ryan@anthemchurch.org if you have any questions.

  • Family Dedications

One of the biggest joys we have as a church is seeing parents choose to commit to raise their children in a way that points them to their loving Savior Jesus, and helping them find their way back to God in their homes.
